Customs, Duties, & Import Fees
Shipping from Canada
1st AB Med Supplies is proudly based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We ship medical supplies and healthcare products across Canada and internationally.
When ordering products outside of Canada, your shipment may be subject to customs duties, taxes, brokerage fees, import permits, or other charges imposed by your country's customs authority. These charges are separate from the shipping fees paid at checkout and are the responsibility of the customer. Customs authorities in each country determine whether fees apply and how much may be charged.
Canadian Orders
Orders shipped within Canada generally do not incur customs duties or import fees. Applicable federal and provincial sales taxes will be charged according to the destination province or territory.
International Orders
If your order is shipped outside Canada, your local customs office may assess:
-
Import duties
-
Value-added tax (VAT)
-
Goods and Services Tax (GST)
-
Customs clearance fees
-
Brokerage fees charged by courier companies
-
Other government-imposed import charges
These fees vary by country, product category, shipment value, and local regulations. Unfortunately, 1st AB Med Supplies cannot predict or control these charges. Customers are encouraged to contact their local customs office for information regarding potential fees before placing an order.
Customs Delays
International shipments may occasionally experience delays due to customs inspections or clearance procedures. While we work hard to ensure orders are shipped promptly, 1st AB Med Supplies is not responsible for delays caused by customs agencies, border inspections, or import processing requirements.
Refused or Unclaimed Shipments
If an international shipment is refused by the recipient or returned due to unpaid customs fees, duties, taxes, or failure to clear customs, any return shipping charges, customs charges, brokerage fees, or carrier fees incurred will be deducted from any eligible refund.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
Product Restrictions
Certain medical products may be restricted, regulated, or require permits in some countries. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that products ordered can be legally imported into their destination country.
1st AB Med Supplies is not responsible for shipments delayed, seized, confiscated, or rejected by customs authorities due to local import regulations.
Customs Documentation
To comply with international shipping regulations, all international orders are declared at their actual purchase value and accurately described on customs documentation. We cannot mark shipments as "gifts" or declare lower values than the actual purchase price.
